FOOD PANTRY OFFERS FAMILY FUN AT GLOUCESTER HEALTH EXPO
Good nutrition and physical activity are building blocks to better health. With the support of a grant from the North Shore Community Health Network and the Forest Foundation, The Cape Ann Food Pantry in partnership with the Cape Ann YMCA, Gloucester Health Department and Addison Gilbert Hospital offers a family nutrition and fun day at the fall Gloucester Health and Fitness Expo.
Families are invited to make the Gloucester Health and Fitness Expo an annual event. Activity stations located in the Gloucester High School Field House.
Trot-Trot-to Boston Challenge
Each family member is issued a pedometer, generously provided by Project Bread, when they enter the Field House.
The pedometer can be clipped to a shoe or a waistband, and it will measure the number of steps that are taken while participating in the family activities.
Pedometers will be collected when the activity stations are complete.
The collective steps taken that day will be equal to or greater than 30 miles--a very healthy Trot-Trot-to-Boston.
PASSPORT TO FITNESS
Each participant is issued an PASSPORT to carry with them through the stations. A stamp is given for each activity station completed.
